Getting Ready

Building up the Bikes
After considerable amount of research and talking to others we went with the Surly Long Haul Trucker frame for our bikes. We bought the frames and then built up the rest. We are entirely indebted to the efforts of Darek, Joel and Tomaz from Cycle Surgery (Victoria) for building up the bikes and getting them ready for the trip.


A Little More Research
There was a ton of information to sift through before we left. The map on the wall was a constant reminder to keep us motivated.




  
Way too much gear!

We researched other bike touring blogs to see what others took but still ended up taking things that we didn´t really need but wanted such as drawing pads, pens and books!

Although we didn´t have that much time to red up before we left, because Nafisa was taking a sabbatical for the trip she found the following book to be extremely helpful
